The Firm’s intellectual property practice provides in-depth experience in the areas of trademark, copyright, trade secrets, cybersquatting and Internet domain names. In fact, many of our clients’ transactions involve the acquisition and licensing of technology and all forms of intellectual property, including trademarks, patents, copyrights and trade secrets.
We regularly counsel our clients on the selection, use and protection of their trademarks and service marks and prosecute trademark and service mark applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as well as work with intellectual property counsel in foreign countries to prosecute applications internationally. We have an excellent track record in favorably resolving office actions issued by the Patent and Trademark Office and working with PTO trademark examiners.
In addition, we advise clients on copyright protection and enforcement issues involving a broad variety of creative works, ranging from copyrighted artistic designs on clothing to the content of Internet web sites.
Our intellectual property litigation practice is an extension of the Firm’s substantial expertise in handling complex commercial litigation and we have successfully represented our clients in trademark, copyright and patent infringement litigation, trade secret misappropriation and Internet domain name cases. When protecting our client’s rights in court, we favor acting quickly to obtain emergency and preliminary injunctive relief to stop infringing activities in appropriate cases. Our innovative approach in combating “Internet parasites” on behalf of newspapers was reported in Editor and Publisher magazine.
