Wilson is one of the four founding members of the Firm. He grew up in Virginia. In 1969, Wilson received his undergraduate degree in English from Yale University. In 1973, Wilson graduated from the University of Chicago School of Law where he was a member of the University of Chicago Law Review.

Wilson practices law in a variety of areas. His experience in corporate matters includes international mergers and acquisitions in Europe, Canada, and Mexico. He also has considerable international expertise in transactions in South America and the Orient and represents a number of international clients in the United States. His other domestic expertise includes commercial real estate and financing, taxation, corporate acquisitions, and restructurings. Wilson has worked with a wide variety of clients, including Coca-Cola Bottlers, manufacturers of high-tech products, and financial institutions.

Wilson has represented lenders in various types of litigation, including bankruptcy and appellate work and numerous other clients in securities, antitrust, mortgage banking, trade secret, trademark, patent infringement, RICO, fraud, and general commercial litigation. His work has resulted in favorable decisions of first impression in a variety of cases. Wilson has also done a significant amount of work in investigating employee theft and fraud.

Wilson has been admitted to practice before the Illinois courts, the United States District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth, Fifth, Seventh, Ninth, Eleventh, D.C. and Federal Circuits, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana.

Wilson is married and has a daughter and a son. His interests include diving and computers.
