Lawrence R. Levin was one of the founding members and is now retired from the active practice of law. He received an undergraduate degree in history and economics from the University of Arizona in 1962. He attended Yale Law School from 1962 - 1965, where he wrote his Honors Thesis on antitrust law. Larry graduated 8th in his class and Order of the Coif from Yale. Following his graduation from law school, and during the height of the civil rights movement, Larry clerked for Judge Richard T. Rives of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, based in Montgomery, Alabama.

Larry is a nationally recognized expert in antitrust distribution problems and systems and their related legal problems. A leading lawyer in complex major litigation, Larry's experience includes litigation of precedent setting cases in antitrust, securities law, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property rights, and employment law. Larry also has extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts as well as corporate finance.

Larry and the Firm have done a variety of work for companies in a broad array of different economic segments including clients in the investment banking, newspapers, magazines, radio and TV, commercial banking, health sciences, soft drink bottling, high-tech and e-commerce, and bedding and furniture components segments to name just a few. Among the Firm's clients are Fannie Mae, the Chicago Sun Times, and the Cleveland Coca-Cola Bottling Company.

Larry is widely recognized for his expertise in labor and employee relations. He has helped employers remain union free, negotiated numerous collective bargaining agreements, litigated discrimination cases, and assisted employers in the development and implementation of sound employment policies. Larry has worked extensively with employers including multi-national firms in creating confidentiality and noncompetition covenants to protect their interests, including their intellectual property and marketing plans. He has also prepared policies, lectured, and written on personnel issues such as The Americans with Disabilities Act, AIDS, sexual harassment, effective interviewing, and seeking and giving references while avoiding defamation. As part of the Firm's emphasis on preventative maintenance for proactive clients, he has regularly participated in and conducted training programs for hundreds of managers about these important issues.

Larry has a broad business background. He has served on boards and executive and finance committees of public and private corporations. Columns by Larry on legal issues have appeared in widely regarded publications - including Corporate Legal Times, Editor & Publisher and Beverage World. His articles have also appeared in numerous other publications such as Mortgage Banking. Larry taught research and writing at Yale Law School, and he has been an invited guest lecturer at numerous law schools and professional and business seminars throughout the United States. Known for his study of Jungian psychology, he has studied at the Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland. He is also an avid underwater photographer, and a number of his impressive works have been sold throughout the world. Larry was born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 25, 1939; and admitted to Illinois bar in 1965. He is also admitted to U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth, Seventh, Ninth and Eleventh Circuits as well as for the District of Columbia Circuit and Federal Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois (including Trial Bar) and Middle District of Alabama, and the U.S. Tax Court.
